Head Brewer

Tapestry Brewery

United Kingdom (Bristol)

Do you want to be part of the next chapter in our Bristol brew story?

With continued growth and big ambition, we are seeking a head brewer to join the team and take on the day to day responsibility for our beers. We’re looking for someone to make it their own, who takes pride in their work and is going to bring creative and fresh ideas to our brand and business. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, able to work in a team but also able to work independently using their own initiative.

We’re at a very exciting time in our journey; having recently completed a successful rebrand, we are seeing continued growth in sales with our range of casks, kegs and bottles being distributed nationally (soon to be internationally) and have an increasingly busy taproom in central Bristol.

The platform is now built and we have an opportunity for a talented brewer to join our independent business and to be a part of something special.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the brewery and all brewing processes which include:
  1. Wort production to cellar management
  2. CIP – FV’s, Kegs, Casks, brew house, hoses
  3. Responsible for packaging casks, kegs and bottles
  4. Maintain and service equipment
  5. Management of assistant brewer (in conjunction with founders)
  • Quality control
  1. Taking and recording data
  2. Improve QA SOP’s
  3. Manage raw ingredients specifications
  4. Diligence and constant dedication to cleanliness
  • Production management including raw materials purchasing and monitoring of sales forecast in conjunction with the sales team
  • Add value to a forward-thinking production schedule
  • Maintaining and implementing SOP’s throughout all brewing operations
  • Develop our core range as well as devise new recipes as we increase the range and release specials
  • Develop processes for future HACCP/SALSA and other regulatory matters
  • Develop small pack plan for 2020 and beyond
  • The role includes manual lifting

The package:

  • Salary £26-£30k (depending on experience)
  • Option for equity in the business (to be discussed further at interview stage)
  • Unlimited Holiday*
  • Opportunity to travel to Africa to visit projects that we help to support through our charity project in partnership with Send A Cow (see website for more information)
  • Free monthly beer

Please email calum@tapestrybrewery.com to apply. Include your CV as well as a cover letter outlining why you believe you will add value to our team. All applications will be handled in confidence.

*We believe we are the first and only brewery in the UK to offer unlimited holiday as part of the package.
