Nirvana is a specialist brewery dedicated to high quality alcohol-free craft ales. We're looking for a Head Brewer who has a passion for innovative beers and loves a challenge! This will be a 12-month contract with the potential to extend for longer. We are looking for a highly skilled brewer with commercial brewing experience and a good balance of scientific knowledge, attention to detail and creativity to join our friendly and dynamic team. We have a passion for beer regardless of the ABV, and we want someone who shares our enthusiasm and isn’t afraid to do something different.
Nirvana Brewery is at the forefront of a much talked about topic - low and no alcohol - and has been featured on BBC 1, Radio 4, The Guardian and more. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of our exciting journey as we grow and take the brewery to the next level.
This is a key position in the company where you’ll be expected to lead the brewing process independently, work on maintaining and improving the equipment and production methods, advise on important decisions and experiment with new lines.
Responsibilities include:
Efficiently and confidently taking over the routine production of existing beers
Work to high level of quality control and accuracy
Understanding and maintaining brewing equipment
Implementing and improving quality control and HACCP processes
Working closely with our assistant brewer and developing their knowledge and experience
Communicating effectively to management and the rest of the team on key developments
Using initiative to problem solve independently and efficiently, reporting any issues
Maintaining a meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy when brewing, in particular upholding scrupulous levels of hygiene
Developing and experimenting with innovative ideas to improve products and brewing methods
Joining in with the rest of the team in working together to grow and promote the business
Skills and experience required
Proven experience in commercial brewing Brewing qualifications desirable
Effective communicator
Flexible and adaptable, hands-on approach to getting stuck in with anything that needs doing Confident problem solver
Good team player and willingness to get involved in other aspects of the business
Ability to work independently and be reliable
Enthusiasm for innovative brewing regardless of ABV
Positive attitude and passion for our brand
