Work in Craft Beer

Teaming up with craft breweries and tap rooms around the world to find motivated job candidates!

Field Sales Representative

Abbeydale Brewery

United Kingdom (Sheffield)

We are recruiting for another member to join our sales team, with key aims of increasing our customer base and providing support to our current customers. You must be organized and self-motivated, a good communicator and a people person who will be an excellent ambassador for the brewery.

Prior experience of working in brewery sales in a field-based role, and a keen enthusiasm for real ale/craft beer, are essential.

The role will be split between time spent in the brewery and sales visits on the road. The successful candidate must have a full driving licence.

On the road duties include being responsible for:

  • Contacting and visiting potential new customers (prospects)
  • After sales support to new and existing customers
  • Offering advice on keeping cask & keg beer and troubleshooting where necessary
  • Customer relationship management and ensuring customer retention

Brewery duties include being responsible for:

  • Prospecting potential new customers using a variety of sources
  • Planning time efficiently to make the best use of time on the road
  • Sales duties – taking orders, answering the phones and dealing with callers appropriately
  • Liaising with colleagues to share all relevant information and updates from visits to customers

Other duties may occasionally be required for the effective functioning of the business, as requested by your line manager or other senior staff of the business.

As a brewery is a seven-day per week operation, flexible working time is essential at times. Where unsociable hours are required you will be expected to manage your time accordingly with respect to office staffing and sales duties. Hours are likely to be 9-5 when in the brewery but when on the road more flexibility will be required – for example, 12-8.

We believe in making sure all our employees are happy, well trained and maintain a great work / life balance. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, and we offer a generous company pension. Salary is dependent on experience.

You will have the opportunity to take on extra roles you enjoy or excel at, and will be encouraged to have an input into the direction of the brewery, including attending events, meeting new people and getting the chance to create the beers that you want to sell.  You will also get the chance to learn and develop professionally, both informally and formally - including the General Certificate in Brewing, which will provide you with excellent technical knowledge.
