The Beerblefish Brewing Company Limited
United Kingdom (Edmonton, North London)
Salary: starting salary £20,000 - £24,000 p.a. depending on experience & qualifications
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: The Beerblefish Brewing Company Limited, Unit 6, Georgiou Business Park, Second Avenue, Edmonton, London N18 2PG
Company Background: Beerblefish Brewing Co. was established in 2015 and moved from a shared facility to its own premises in 2016 with a 4.5 BBL brewing kit. Beerblefish is a family-owned business with (currently) no external shareholders. In 2018, we took on our first employees and switched our focus to become a social enterprise brewery with multiple aims:
Provide training and mentoring to ex-forces personnel to re-skill and re-enter the workforce after military service;
Provide material and financial support to computing-oriented youth training schemes and children’s organisations;
Pay all members of staff at least the living wage;
Brew fantastic beer and have fun doing it!
We offer a full range of tasty beers, from dark, mysterious stouts and porters through to lagers and hoppy pales, but our true passion is for heritage beers, which is why our core range comprises beers based on nineteenth century recipes and tasting notes. We have also branched out into spirits, creating our Limited Edition Hopped Gin in 2019. Several of our beers have won awards, including two-star Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Foods and silver awards at the Drinks Business Global Beer Competition. Although we aren’t averse to adding the occasional weird and wonderful ingredient, our focus is on making beer from the fundamental ingredients - and we love to play with yeasts.
Below is a non-exhaustive outline of the tasks associated with this role - this list will change as the brewery grows and the most important thing we expect of everyone working in the brewery is a willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in to whatever needs doing, supporting the rest of the team as we all work hard to make great beer.
