Work in Craft Beer

Teaming up with craft breweries and tap rooms around the world to find motivated job candidates!

Pond Farm Brewing Co

United States of America (San Rafael, CA)

As we build our opening team, we’re looking for engaging and attentive bartenders who love people (and beer, of course) and who are excited to shape the customer experience in our taproom. Our bartenders are the face of Pond Farm Brewing, first to interact with customers, take orders at the bar, pour beers, and chat about our beers.

By joining our team early on, you will be involved in the chaos and excitement of opening. Our ideal candidates thrive in situations that are sometimes ambiguous and hectic and are energized by the opportunity to help us build an awesome place from Day 1. Since we’re just starting out, there will be lots of room to grow and take on more responsibilities.

We’re looking for individuals with the following traits:

  • Strong work ethic
  • Enthusiasm for craft beer

  • People-lover with excellent communication skills

  • Natural "jump-in-and-help"/ team player mentality

  • Serve beer properly from our 16-tap tower
  • Greet customers and answer their questions about our beers and our brewing process in a friendly and non-pretentious manner

  • Conduct bar operations while behind the bar - from cleaning to pouring beer to stocking glassware

  • Understand and follow bar operations, including keeping an impeccably clean bar service area

  • Change out kegs

  • Adhere to all alcohol service regulations and requirements

  • Share customer feedback with others during team meetings

  • Follow Opening and Closing bar protocols flawlessly

  • Bus tables, wash glasses, and generally maintain cleanliness of the taproom

  • Other duties as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year bartending experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application

  • Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money

  • Take Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training within 30 days of beginning work

  • Ability to move 50 lbs or more (to move and replace kegs)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working at a restaurant / bar during opening phase

  • Any beer-related training (Cicerone, Beer Steward, etc.)

  • Beer knowledge of styles and appropriate glass types

  • Availability on at least one weekend day

All positions are part-time and wages will range from $12 - $14/hr plus tips (compensation will depend on level of experience).
